Different Take on Adam and Eve!
Adam, the first man. Eve, the woman. Both have had numerous stories told about them and their beginnings. This is a fresh, unique, and chilling take on this biblical story.
The author, John Gordon, weaves a unique story around the original Adam and Eve that is both intriguing and chilling at the same time. The story begins with what appears to be a meteorite or other catastrophic event in which most of the tribe is wiped out. Adam and his mother are survivors but what they endure throughout the book is at times difficult to get through as it touches on the bad aspects of humanity. Added in are references to the supernatural, mystical, and otherworldly presences. The characters and the story are well-developed. I found this rendition of Adam and Eve to be intriguing and riveting! I thought the storyline was engaging, and full of action and the dialogue kept the book moving forward. There are a few places where the story seems a little disjointed but Iām not sure if I missed something or if it was meant for the listener to make their own leap.
As the narrator, John Gordon did a great job speaking clearly and keeping the characters straight. His delivery was steady without unnecessary pauses. His energy and enthusiasm were apparent and well-placed. Not many authors are skilled at narration.
Overall, this was an interesting book with a fresh take on the story of Adam and Eve.
