Powerful Messages in Popular Fables!

Men Who Walk with Dragons is a captivating collection of childhood stories that stress character, strength, integrity, courage, destiny, and more. All these traits and beliefs are needed to survive the move from childhood to adulthood. The stories include but are not limited to The Matchstick Girl, The Three Little Pigs, The Frog Prince, and more. The words of wisdom shared at the beginning and ending of each story is valuable and insightful. Each of the stories flows from one to another intermingled with words of wisdom and growth.

The author, Jake Dekker wants listeners to find their inner strength and understand the steps one must take to meet their potential. Both prior and following each story is a brief explanation of what the story is addressing. He reinforces everything that parents tell their children, and what we as adults need to remember in a manner that is captivating and lingers long afterward. I enjoyed the repeated message of “walking with dragons.” Dragons are fierce and strong; they can overcome anything. Dekker, through the selected stories and messages, reinforces that any person is not alone, but has “a dragon” within to walk alongside.

The narrator, Barry McGovern was perfect for this collection of tales. His performance captures the essence of each story. His cadence is steady; his enunciation is impeccable. His tone is rich and deep.

I highly recommend this audiobook as it is a reminder that each of us has a journey to complete and we are never alone. Inspirational and moving.
