Unseen Forces Seeking Justice!

Counting crows was written by Joe Talon and narrated by Edmund Bloxam. This mystery thriller takes place in rural UK. Our main character, a retired military man, comes across a dead body while out on a run. This who done it leads the reader through the boring side of the paranormal. Ending with our main character’s PTSD "the beast inside" going unacknowledged by his peers and thus no real inner conflict resolution. The main character being a contradiction in his personality. On one hand, he is a retired military veteran who is well trained and isn't scared of anyone. However, as soon as he meets a pretty girl he is falling over himself in fear and self-doubt yet with no fear of any other social interactions. It is clear that the female cast was obviously written by a man. Every woman is small, petite, beautiful, and just intelligent enough to be of assistance to the main character. Except for the mother of one of the characters. Overall the author has skills at forging an overall plot and planting pieces of the puzzle throughout the story. But the dialog and characters are missing depth.

The narration done by Edmund Bloxam was sub-par. His flawless British accent was the only saving grace for this audiobook. The only time his narration conveyed convincing emotion was at the peaks of conflict throughout the story.

Editing, quality, and production were Ok. The quality of sound was lacking but did not take away from the story.
